Experience one of the most interesting and fun parts of an actor’s process: learning and acquiring an accent. We hear a variety of accents every day, at work, walking down the street, on TV, and each of us has our own unique accent. We often change our accent depending on who we are speaking to and what we need to communicate. We all have the ability to speak in many different ways and it is a skill that we can learn to control.
We’ll start with a few of the techniques actors use to warm up and develop awareness and control of their articulatons. Then we will find out how actors are really listening to you when they want to learn your accent. We’ll put all the pieces together to finish off with learning a new accent.
