Participants are strongly encourage to bring along a camera and it's manual to the class.
We have expensive cameras with numerous buttons and shooting options, yet most of the time we just shoot away in ‘Auto’. The camera chooses the settings and what we create are often very disappointing photos. Nothing like what we imagined, right? Whether we like landscapes, portraits or travel photography, without an understanding of how to shoot in manual, we will never be able to create the image we have in mind. The best thing is, ANYONE can learn how to do so.
This class will introduce us to the three pillars of exposure: aperture, shutter speed and ISO. We will show how they interact and how to set them in the camera in manual mode. The class will also touch on one of the most powerful tools to make a photo really stand out – “depth of field”.
Sandra was born in Germany but has spent many years living abroad including in Australia and Singapore. She was a veterinarian for 20 years, however motherhood required part time work where she discovered a passion and ability for photography she never realized she had. Her main focus is still her two boys! Her personal passion is animal photography, yet she also truly enjoys all other genres of photography especially family portraiture and travel photography. She offers professional photography services, photography workshops and outings for beginners and she sells prints of lovely Singapore scenes. Having taught in different fields for many years she hopes to pass on her passion for photography to as many DSLR owners as possible.
